We're excited to share with you the story of Amber of Amber Rose wines, a Santa Barbara native, whose path has led her from the sandy beaches to the thriving vineyards of the Santa Ynez Valley. Born in a family deeply rooted in Santa Barbara since the 1950s, Amber's connection with this region is as natural as it is profound. Growing up, her life was a blend of adventures on Santa Barbara's beaches and the serene rivers of SY, fostering an early appreciation for the natural world. Amber's childhood, immersed in agricultural activities, played a pivotal role in shaping her future. Her initial academic focus on Ecological Restoration was a reflection of her love for the outdoors. However, a significant shift occurred while working at The Mirabelle Inn in Solvang. Here, under the guidance of Chef Norbert and wine curator Brigetta, Amber was introduced to the world of high-end food and wine. A particular encounter with Ken Brown's 2007 Clos Pepe Pinot Noir, paired with an exquisite dish, redirected her career towards viticulture and enology. Pursuing this newfound passion, Amber enrolled in viticulture and enology courses at Hancock, setting the stage for her entry into the wine industry. Her journey included various positions in wineries, culminating in a collaboration with Ken Brown. After a decade of gaining experience, 2018 marked the year Amber ventured into making her own wine, starting with the challenging yet beloved Pinot Noir.

We wanted to give you a quick update on what's been happening at our small vineyard. Last week, in the early days of October, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work on harvesting our beloved Grenache grapes. It was a real friends and family affair! Our day started crazy early, like 4 am early. Yep, we were out there before the sun even thought about showing up. But hey, that's how it goes in the world of winemaking. So, there we were, all of us, picking those beautiful grapes one cluster at a time. We were super careful to pick only the best grapes, the ones that would make our wine truly special. But here's the exciting part – we pressed those grapes and are we looking forward to making a delicious Grenache Rosé! 🍷🍇🌹 Stay tuned for more updates as we take you along on our winemaking journey. Cheers!
